Web of Life in Hyderabad
Web of Life works across two studios in India — its founding studio in Auroville and a workshop in Hyderabad. The Hyderabad workshop is where much of the practice’s making happens: sculpture, collectible furniture and objects shaped from wood and stone gathered across the country. Architects, interior designers and collectors are received by appointment.
The workshop
A working studio, not a showroom. Stone is cut and carved, timber is worked and joined, and pieces are finished by hand alongside the material stock they come from. Visits are by appointment, so there is time to see work in progress and talk through a commission properly.
Sculpture
One-of-a-kind contemporary sculpture in stone and wood, where the form follows what the material already is.
Collectible & sculptural furniture
Consoles, tables and seating conceived as sculpture that also holds a function — worked in stone, solid timber and glass.
Stone work
Granite, coquina and limestone, worked for grain, weight and the marks time has already left — from stone furniture to collectible objects and sculptural basins.
Solid wood & timber
Rosewood, walnut, teak and neem — including charred and reclaimed timber, shaped as furniture and objects.
Objects, vessels & lighting
Collectible stone objects and sculptural lighting, where the form leads the light.
Bespoke commissions
The workshop takes on commissions for architects, designers, developers and collectors — from a single sculptural piece to larger, site-specific work. For scope, material and scale, we talk directly.
Material experimentation
Part of the practice is simply working with unusual materials — coquina, glauconite, charred teak, granite boulders — and letting each one set the terms of the piece.
Working with architects & interior designers
Much of the studio’s work begins as a specification or a commission. By-appointment workshop visits let designers review material, see work in progress and brief a piece against a real project.
