The studio

Design begins with listening.

Web of Life is an Auroville-based design practice creating sculptural objects, lighting and furniture from the intelligence already present in natural materials.

A living material practice

“A piece of wood is not a blank surface. It arrives with weather, movement and a history of its own.”

The studio works between art and function, preserving the truest shapes of found wood and stone while giving them a new place in contemporary life.

The process

  1. 01

    Encounter

The material is studied before an object is imagined.

  2. 02

    Reveal

Carving follows grain, pressure, hollows and natural form.

  3. 03

    Refine

Function and finish are introduced without erasing memory.
