Artwork Concept

According to Greek mythology, Gaia is the creator of the earth, the Mother of all living things. This sculpture is explored to focus on the infinite possibilities of her creations- magnificent in their unique natural patterns, the structures of their bodies and the evolution that took place over a period of time. It is crafted as the heart which consists of all the beings around us that belong to Mother Gaia.

Material Exploration

This Teak wood was selected and crafted for its size and design possibilities. The whole chunk was carved out to achieve the desired story-telling process of acknowledging the breathing planet we live in. It stands on a rough-cut granite block with the support of SS rods.
